Abstract

Permasalahan eksternal pendidikan di Indonesia dewasa ini sesungguhnya sangat komplek. Hal ini dikarenakan oleh kenyataan kompleksnya dimensi-dimensei eksternal pendidikan itu sendiri. Dimensi-dimensi eksternal pendidikan meliputi dimensi sosial, politik, ekonomi, budaya, dan bahkan juga dimensi global.Dari berbagai permasalahan pada dimensi eksternal dalam menggali potensi pendidikan di Indonesia maka  makalah ini hanya akan memfokuskan tiga permasalahan, yaitu permasalahan globalisasi , permasalahan perubahan sosial,  dan permasalahan ekonomi. Berdasarkan kajian secara kepustakaan maka makalah ini dapat menyimpulkan bahwa faktor ekternal berfikr sistem dalam menggali potensi pendidikan terdapat tiga faktor besar yakni Globalisasi karena faktor globalisasi memang membuka peluang bagi pendidikan nasional, tetapi pada waktu yang sama ia juga mengahadirkan tantangan dan permasalahan pada pendidikan nasional. Karena pendidikan pada prinsipnya mengemban etika masa depan, maka dunia pendidikan harus mau menerima dan menghadapi dinamika globalisasi sebagai bagian dari permasalahan pendidikan masa kini.kedua yaitu faktor perbahan sosial menjadi agenda penting dalam pemikiran dan praksis pendidikan nasional karena pendidikan harus mengikuti perubahan dan perkembanagan zaman yang berkembang di masyarakat, ketiga yaitu ekonomi mempengaruhi pendidikan karena Petumbuhan Ekonomi   yang   cepat   di   Negara-negara   Asia   dan perubahan progresif dalam produksi menuju industry dan jasa berteknologi tinggi mengakibatkan meningkatnya tuntutan dari dunia usaha terhadap perlunya SDM yang terampil dan terdidik (berkualitas).
