Abstract

Penelitian berjudul Kajian Desain Algoritma Video Pendek TikTok terhadap Perilaku Adiktif Remaja ini membahas adiksi terhadap video pendek yang terjadi pada remaja, sebagai permasalahan baru yang timbul dari teknologi, akibat penggunaan berlebih aplikasi berbasis video pendek seperti TikTok. Dengan menggunakan metode kajian literatur terhadap sembilan artikel jurnal dengan fokus serupa dan menekankan pada aspek teknologi dan komunikasi, penelitian ini menganalisis faktor penyebab, dampak yang ditimbulkan, dan strategi penanganan adiksi, menggunakan perspektif pembentukan teknologi secara sosial (social shaping of technology/SST). Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa salah satu penyebab adiksi terhadap video pendek pada remaja ini adalah desain algoritma yang merekomendasikan konten berdasarkan preferensi pengguna, dan mendorong pengguna menggunakan aplikasi dalam waktu lama. Dampak yang ditimbulkan dari adiksi video pendek ini antara lain adalah penurunan fungsi kognitif, berkurangnya konsentrasi, hingga turunnya prestasi akademik. Penelitian juga menemukan bahwa algoritma rekomendasi tidak netral dan tidak transparan. Salah satu bentuk penanganan adiksi video pendek dalam konteks teknologi dan komunikasi adalah perlunya literasi algoritma. Peneliti merekomendasikan penelitian selanjutnya untuk melakukan riset dengan metode di luar kajian literatur, untuk mendapatkan hasil yang lebih komprehensif dalam pembahasan terkait adiksi video pendek pada remaja di Indonesia.
