Abstract

Industri Food & Beverage di Indonesia berkembang pesat dengan munculnya restoran berkonsep modern yang tidak hanya menjual cita rasa, tetapi juga pengalaman sosial dan citra yang Instagrammable, sehingga mendorong Generasi Z menggunakan konsumsi sebagai sarana menunjukkan status dan identitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh social comparison dan asimilasi sosial terhadap perilaku conspicuous consumption dengan FOMO sebagai variabel mediasi pada pengunjung restoran Classic Brasserie, Bakery, dan Bar di Surabaya. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan 200 responden Generasi Z berusia 17–28 tahun yang pernah berkunjung ke restoran tersebut. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner berskala Likert lima poin dengan 15 indikator yang merepresentasikan konstruk social comparison, asimilasi sosial, FOMO, dan conspicuous consumption, kemudian diolah menggunakan pemodelan persamaan struktural berbasis partial least squares (SEM-PLS) untuk menguji pengaruh langsung dan tidak langsung antar variabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa social comparison dan asimilasi sosial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap conspicuous consumption, baik secara langsung maupun melalui FOMO. Social comparison dan asimilasi sosial juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap FOMO, sedangkan FOMO sendiri berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap conspicuous consumption.
