Abstract

The Walt Disney Company merupakan perusahaan media massa Amerika Serikat yang memiliki pasar global. Dalam konten yang dibuatnya, Disney kerap kali membawa pesan ideologi tertentu pada agenda media yang dimilikinya. Salah satu agenda yang menjadi kontroversi adalah representasi LGBTQ yang dikenal dengan istilah Woke Agenda. Disney kerap menampilkan representasi LGBTQ pada film-filmnya, termasuk film animasi keluarga berjudul Strange World (2022). Representasi LGBTQ dalam film animasi Disney Strange World jika dianalisis secara multimodal, secara eksplisit tampak dalam empat scene. Dua scene menampilkan karakter LGBTQ berinteraksi, dan ada dua scene yang menampilkan dialog mengenai dukungan dalam menentukan orientasi seksual yang tidak konservatif. Penggambaran ini menunjukan bagaimana agenda setting studio sebesar Disney, berusaha menormalisasikan LGBTQ melalui smuggling simbolik karakter dalam film animasi keluarga yang juga menyasar anak-anak. Genre film keluarga dan teknik animasi, tidak bisa dijadikan generalisasi bahwa film itu layak dikonsumsi oleh anak. Perlu perhatian orang tua terhadap sistem rating yang diberikan pada suatu film.
