Abstract

Penyakit diabetes melitus tipe 2 (DM 2) merupakan penyakit kronis yang diderita sepanjang hidup. Penderita DM tipe 2 dituntut untuk mengubah gaya hidup dan melakukan perawatan dengan rutin dengan biaya yang tinggi. Perubahan gaya hidup memicu terjadinya distres psikologi yang muncul dalam bentuk perasaan sedih, gugup, putus asa, gelisah, perasaan tertekan, usaha yang dilakukan sia-sia, & Tidak berguna. Hal ini dapat mengganggu proses pengobatan penderita DM tipe 2. Distres psikologis dapat dikurangi dengan memberikan psikoedukasi terkait diabetes melitus, mengenal distres psikologis, penanganan dan perawatan yang dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas psikoedukasi untuk mengurangi distres psikologi pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Psikoedukasi dilakukan dalam 1 kelompok untuk menggabungkan informasi dan cara menangani serta memperkuat dukungan antara anggota kelompok. Penelitian ini menggunakkan desain one group pretest and posttest design dengan partisipan 5 orang. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan skala distres psikologi yaitu Kessler Psychological Distress (K10) sebagai instrumen pengukuran. Analisis data menggunakkan Wilcoxon untuk melihat perbedaan pretest dan posttest. Hasil skor pretest menunjukkan distres kategori berat sebesar >30 dan hasil skor posttest menunjukan distres kategori sedang <25. Penderita DM tipe 2 merasa psikoedukasi sangat membantu dalam proses pengobatan serta memberikan informasi terkait kondisi emosional.
